在看汉语的时候要看本质，不要被汉语的表面意思带到沟里去。比如说，连续第二年，就千万别把像consecutive一类的词给带出来。其实就是for the second year/time嘛

Thisyear, a key highlight of China’sdiplomacy is that China will host some important international conferences, inparticular, the Summit of the Conferenceon Interaction, and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, and the APECeconomic leader’s meeting. Can you talkto us about these two international conferences and share with us yourexpectations for these two conferences.

[王毅]:今天有不少女记者提问，我看也是应该的。今年中国外交的一大特点确实是“主场外交”，我们将分别在上海和北京举办两场大型的国际会议。五月我们在上海举办的是亚信峰会，这是亚洲一个十分重要的安全合作论坛，十月在北京举办的是APEC，这个大家很熟悉，是探讨亚太经贸合作的一个主要的平台，这两大会议一个聚焦安全，一个聚焦经济，都是今年中国外交的重头戏。作为东道主，我们将发挥主场优势，提出中国主张，汇聚亚洲智慧，同大家一道来为这两大机制的发展注入新的动力。

根据最近几个提问，你是否发现外长的回答问题是，一般是先说主题句，再展开的。我们可以以这个方式检验一下后面的问题是否如此。

APEC是探讨亚太经贸合作的一个主要的平台；亚信峰会，这是亚洲一个十分重要的安全合作论坛。这两句几乎算定性的话可以记下来，以后遇到了直接拿来用。

重头戏，我首次用的是important events，这里是keypriorities

第一句话外长算是活跃气氛吧。其实在真实口译中，如果主讲人讲了个笑话，你也一定得想办法让听众笑，实在不行，你就说，刚才嘉宾讲了个笑话，大家笑一笑吧。嗯，我就开个玩笑，别当真。

I think it’s only righttoday that many ladies get the chance to ask questions. A key feature ofChina’s diplomacy in 2014 is that we will play host to two major internationalconferences. In May, we will hole the CICA Summit in Shanghai. CICA is animportant security cooperation forum in Asia. In November, we will hold the APECEconomic Leader’s meeting in Beijing. APEC may be more familiar to you. It is aplenary platform for discussingeconomic and trade cooperation in the Asia Pacific. So you can see that thesetwo conferences focus on security and economic issues respectively and bothwill be key priorities for China’s diplomacy this year. We will make the mostof our role as the host country, put forward China’s proposals, pool Asia’s wisdom and work with theparticipants to inject new momentum intothese two mechanisms.

现在的机器翻译根据统计模型来做，模型的限制就在于，一样的中文会对应出不一样的英文，而统计模型往往又不够灵活，所以很容易看出Google翻译的作品，那就是，看不懂。

亚信会议

亚洲相互协作与信任措施会议（简称亚信会议，Conference on Interaction andConfidence-Building Measures in Asia — CICA），是一个有关安全问题的多边论坛，其宗旨是增进成员国相互理解与信任，开展对话与交流，维护地区和平、安全和稳定。亚信会议实行协商一致原则，所通过的决定只具有建议性质。

　　成立亚信会议这一多边论坛的倡议是哈萨克斯坦总统纳扎尔巴耶夫１９９２年１０月在第４７届联合国大会上提出的，主要目的是要在亚洲大陆上建立起有效的、综合性的安全保障机制。倡议一经提出，就得到了包括中国在内的亚洲不少国家的赞同和积极参与。１９９３年３月起，亚信会议开始活动。

　　１９９９年９月，亚信会议首次外长级会议在哈萨克斯坦阿拉木图举行。会议通过了《亚信会议成员国相互关系原则宣言》。宣言的主要内容包括：维护公认的国际关系基本准则，即相互尊重主权和领土完整，互不干涉内政，和平解决争端，不使用武力和以武力相威胁，发展经济、社会和文化合作等。

　　迄今，亚信会议建立了国家元首和政府首脑会议、外长会议、高官委员会会议、特别工作组会议和部门领导人会议机制。亚信会议常设执行机构为秘书处，设在哈萨克斯坦阿拉木图。

　　截至２０１０年６月，亚信会议有２０个成员国：中国、阿富汗、阿塞拜疆、埃及、印度、伊朗、以色列、哈萨克斯坦、蒙古国、俄罗斯、吉尔吉斯斯坦、巴基斯坦、巴勒斯坦、塔吉克斯坦、土耳其、泰国、乌兹别克斯坦、韩国、约旦和阿拉伯联合酋长国。另外，美国、日本、越南、印度尼西亚、马来西亚、乌克兰、卡塔尔等国家和联合国、欧洲安全与合作组织和阿拉伯国家联盟等国际组织享有观察员地位。
